This is what I saw on New Years Eve. What about you?

Friday, December 29, 2006 I'm still here.

Somehow my flight got screwed up. The crappy thing about the entire affair was we drove down to LA to find this all out. What's super crappy is it was all confirmed and should have been perfect. Oh well, I can deal with a few more days of cheese, bacon and hamburgers.

One possibly cool thing about the entire affair is the new itinerary that I have leaves me in Paris overnight on New Years Eve. Of course I'll be all alone, and likely freezing cold... but it at least SOUNDS romantic.

Oh, and it turns out that burritos are liquids.

Friday, December 22, 2006 I could talk about nachos, Las Vegas, Taco Bell or any of the other wonderful and interesting things that have happened over the past couple of weeks. I'd rather not. Rather, I'd like to talk about the best commercial I've ever seen in my life.

Noah and his wife are on the ark, counting animals. Noah's wife calling out names, Noah checking things off on his clipboard.

Wife: "Two lions"
Noah: "Two lions"
Wife: "Two bats"
Noah: "Two bats"
Wife: "Two termites"
Noah: "Two termites"
Unison: "TWO TERMITES?!"

At this point the camera cuts to an exterior shot of the ark and two pickup trucks bearing the logo for the extermination company fly out of the clouds, making Top Gun-esque jet noises. They zoom in to the open door of the ark, and bam. Show the phone number, that's it.

I don't know, but inexplicable flying pickup trucks zooming into Noah's ark to kill termites is pretty much the best thing that I can imagine.

Thursday, December 07, 2006 I'm back in the US.

It's not as weird as I thought it would be. I thought I'd see everything with new eyes and things would be strange. It's not, which I suppose is weird in and of itself.

In any case, I have noticed a few things:
- The internet is so fast it is insane
- American portions are huge
- 18 Months without cheeseburgers + cheeseburgers = digestive trouble
- Digestive trouble + Pizza and Ranch = interesting morning

Yeah, that's right. I don't have any trouble at all eating street food in Benin, I arrive here and BAM. Well... maybe not bam, more like SQUIRT!

In any case, it's good to be back.
